Public Hearing regarding proposed budget proposal for budget year 2001-2002. Tax request including utility replacement = $123,453 ($82,939 without utility) for regular general levy. Including special revenues and debt service tax request is $173,678 ($123,144 without utility). No citizens were present to speak either in favor of or against said proposal. No written comments were received by the city. Public Hearings of the Tiffin City Council closed at 6:40 p.m and the regular meeting of the City of Tiffin was reconvened. Motion Ryan, second Bartels to approve and authorize the city director to look into truck acquisition not to exceed $20,000 in cost. Ayes: Walls, Dils, Bartels, and Ryan. Absent: Gericke. Motion carried. Motion Ryan, second Bartels to approve RESOLUTION #2001-10, APPROVING PROPOSED CITY BUDGET for the 2001-2002 year. The budget provides for a $10.10 /thousand valuation tax levy or $12,342 regular levy, $8,000 special levy and $24,225 debt service for total $173,678 tax levy. Ayes: Dils, Bartels, Ryan, and Walls. Absent: Gericke. Motion carried. Motion Ryan, second Bartels to approve RESOLUTION #2001-11, AMENDING OFFICIAL ZONING MAPS including Rolling Hills, Tiffin Edge, and Sadler Lot 2 from R-1 to R-3, and to amend Land Use, Growth and Fringe Area Maps as recommended by Tiffin Planning and Zoning. On the 14th day of March at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa, councilperson Bartels introduced Ordinance No. 2001-241, an ordinance amending subdivision ordinance 1998-218, AN ORDINANCE ALLOWING CHURCH SIGNS and providing for first reading, motion carried by Walls. Ayes: Dils, Ryan, Walls, and Bartels. Absent: Gericke. Motion carried. Thereupon, Mayor Potter read ORDINANCE NO. 2001-241, AN ORDINANCE ALLOWING CHURCH CHURCH SIGNS for the first time and placed it upon the record.
