Not the city

This site is run independently. It does not use the city's name as its own, its seal, logo or colours, and nothing here is an official statement of the City of Tiffin. For official records, notices and deadlines, go to the city.

Figures

Every figure is as printed in a published document or derived from printed figures, and says which. Derived figures (sums, shares, estimates) can be wrong where a scan is incomplete or misread; coverage notes say where the source is thin. Nothing here is audited or official accounting.

Votes and summaries

Votes are read from the minutes by rules and matched to names; implied votes ("all ayes") are marked as such. The home page's summaries are assembled by rule from those records (counts, the agenda headings and motion lines as written), not written by a person or a language model. They are neutral by design: a split vote or a "no" is a matter of record, not a judgement.

The City Code

Unofficial compilation built from the City's published 2010 Code chapters and the text of adopted ordinances. Effective dates are inferred from adoption records; scanned chapters were OCR'd. The City of Tiffin's adopted Code of Ordinances governs. Not legal advice.

How it is made: each chapter of the 2010 Code of Ordinances (as published on the city website) and the Zoning Ordinance is split into sections. Every ordinance adopted since August 11, 2010 is read for the sections it replaces, adds or repeals, and the new text is taken from the ordinance itself. Where the text could not be read cleanly, or the ordinance changes only part of a section, the change is listed as "not yet consolidated" with a link to the ordinance until a person has checked it. Some of the city's chapter files are later versions rather than the 2010 text; where that is detectable, the 2010 text is marked as not available. A 2026 draft recodification has been discussed but is not adopted: it is shown only as a cross-reference.
