Four members of the council being present and having voted "Aye", Mayor Glenn R. Potter declared the motion carried, and Ordinance No. 2001-242, ZONING TIFFIN EDGE was read the first time and discussed and placed on record. Motion Gericke, second Walls to accept voluntary annexation request from Leonard for property in the northwest sector of the city. Ayes: Bartels, Dils, Walls, and Gericke. Absent: Ryan. Motion carried. Engineer Hart recommends that the City and Planning and Zoning begin study of Right of Way requirements needed for future expansion and improvements proposed for Highway 6. Information will be sent to Planning and Zoning for recommendation. Engineer also recommends that Planning and Zoning also look to similar concerns for safety issues expressed along Roberts Ferry Road. Also study and review of current growth area and fringe area agreement with county. Hart reported a possible industrial interest for the I-80 exchange, information is preliminary. $303,000 purchase of 65 acre Washington Park located on the east side of the city along Hwy#6 and railroad has been executed by Attorney Greenleaf, the park may be used for future sewer system expansion and/or water well location along with recreational needs for the community. The purchase has substantially reduced city reserves, but at this time no borrowing appears to be required to continue regular operating transactions for the city. Craig Utech asked if any there were any further information on a park for the Songbird area. The city has no funds for new parks at this time, but would pursue donations of land and volunteer efforts. Motion Gericke, second Bartels to approve the clerk and treasurer's reports. Ayes: Walls, Gericke, Dils, Bartels. Absent: Ryan. Motion carried. Motion Walls, second Bartels to pay bills and receive receipts. Ayes: Bartels, Dils, Gericke and Walls. Absent: Ryan.
