Text read by the vision model; check the PDF for anything that matters.Potter: Proposed maintenance contract would cost $1200.00 per year. Talking $12,000.00 there. Shouldn't need any maintenance next year.
Madden: What if we decide to spend $10,000.00 now and in October or November the new tower is approved?
Spivey: Takes several years to put one through.
Madden: Don't have much fire protection.
Potter: Have more than we need as far as livelihood concerned. Can't let this tower go to waste, even if get new one.
Madden: Something needs to be done to tower, but $10,000.00 is a lot of money to spend without further investigation.
Motion Potter to approve contract with Water Tower Paint and Repair Company of Clear Lake, Iowa in the amount of $10,481.00 (which is $300.00 less than contract reads) to sandblast interior and paint with white epoxy to at least ten mils, sandblast exterior, prime and paint with aluminum paint one coat. It was my understanding from Mr. Bonin last night that the contract for $10,781.00 would be reduced by the $300.00 amount for inspection if we went with your company and we would not be charged for the inspection. (Clerk verified conversation.)
Madden: Do we have pump to take over if one goes out?
Potter: Shallow well good for three hours.
Madden: Do we have replacement for pump in deep well?
Potter: No.
Rohret: Could run through fire truck.
Potter: If we lose electricity we would not have water. Would call Civil Defense.
Madden: Seems like fifteen days is a long time to be down.
Anderson: Epoxy paint needs time to cure. Will do inside as quickly as possible. Need to wait twelve hours between coats.
Madden: What if pits are thinner than you think?
Anderson: Will contact Council. Don't think there is anything that bad in there. Some big pits on top.
Madden: Is this a standard cost for any water tower company?
Anderson: We have three comparable competitors.
Potter: The understanding was $10,481.00. Will you agree to that?
