Anderson: Yes. Rohret: Don't like spending money but the longer we wait the more expensive it will get. This company might not even come back and bid on project. Then we're right back to nobody coming to look at it. Potter: Probably have more than $300.00 invested in it now. Madden: Who did Brown contact in April? Potter: Gave Brown name of three companies from engineer. We all hate to spend the money but it's not like we're putting another tax burden on town. Water and sewer rates are competitive with other towns in county and we ought to go ahead with it. Anderson: Guarantee it 100% for one year. Automatic inspection at end of one year. Will drain totally. Will redo it if as much as a blemish. Potter: Cathodic converter was useless in bottom of tank. Engineer recommends not putting it back in. Anderson: Ice takes rods out. Cathodic protection is supposed to draw electrodes out of water. Formanek: Potter has made a motion to approve contract with Water Tower Paint and Repair Company of Clear Lake, Iowa in the amount of $10,481.00 to sandblast interior and paint with white epoxy to at least ten mils, sandblast exterior, prime and paint with aluminum paint one coat. Spivey: seconded the motion. Madden: Needs to be cleaned but need more input. Roll call vote: Madden, nay; Potter, aye; Spivey, aye; Rohret, aye. Motion carried. Formanek: Draw up new contract. Anderson: Can put my name in as well as salesman. Give us twenty-one days to do the work, commencing when contract is signed, provided we don't get rained out. Can sign contract with no problem. Will have new contract for signatures at 7:00 a.m. tomorrow. Will send to company for signatures. Will return one copy to town. Motion Madden second Rohret to approve annual water report to FHA. Carried unanimously. Motion Spivey second Rohret to approve Street Finance Report. Carried unanimously. Motion Potter second Madden to adjourn at 9:00 p.m. Carried unanimously.
