Mechanical: 1) Please verify ventilation system calculations and design per 2024 IMC Sections 403 & 404 for outside air and exhaust/relief requirements. Include both continuous and intermittent ventilation calculations. <7/21/2025 NS> Ventilation system calculations have been provided for your review. (MSA) 2) Provide firestop and damper submittal(s) for all rated penetrations. <7/21/2025 NS> A 1-hr rated damper will be required for exhaust fan 20-EF-3 (20-DF-3) because the duct penetrates through the mezzanine. Fire rated caulk will also be required at the perimeter of the penetrations. The rest of the exhaust fans are not located in control areas or are located on the exterior wall and do not penetrate through the mezzanine floor. (MSA) Electrical: 1) Add the required concrete encased electrode (Ufer) to the electrical plans and one-line drawing. Indicate the location of the connection to the footing reinforcing steel. <7/21/2025 NS> We typically leave the location of the Ufer up to the electrician and verify it is completed during our inspections. If you prefer an exact location is identified, we can contact the electrician to confirm the location they are proposing. (MSA) 2) Provide firestop submittal for all rated penetrations. <7/21/2025 NS> We would anticipate that most of the penetrations in the 1-hour fire rated control areas will be through the concrete floor slab. Wall/ceiling penetrations through 1-hour rated assemblies are covered by specification 26 05 00, Paragraphs 2.02 and 3.03, I. (MSA) Plumbing: 1) Provide firestop submittal for all rated penetrations. <7/21/2025 NS> Piping that penetrates through the 1-hour control areas have been identified on the drawings provided. (MSA) Fire Protection: 1) Identify all Hazardous Materials and Chemicals to be on site and provide SDS to Fire Marshal. Verify all Maximum Allowable Quantities are compliant with 2024 IFC and approved by Tiffin Fire Marshal. Building Codes and Fire Marshal’s Office will coordinate a response for this once information has been provided. <7/22/2025 NS> Refer to the life safety plan provided. (MSA) 2) See Fire Marshal’s plan review report for additional comments. No comments were received. (MSA) 4 of 4
