Scheetz: How many homes on the north side were damaged? Clerk: I know of eighteen (18) homms plus the sub station and crop damages. Potter: Some of them sustained damage from sewer backup. Bartels: I don't know what to do. Slaymaker: There's nothing wrong with requiring things to be built one foot above the flood plain level. The ones that were not damaged this time could stay where they are. Greenleaf: The ordinance would apply to any trailer which received more than 50% damage. Bartels: Go back to the others? Greenleaf: Fifty percent of value. Scheetz: We have 49 structures with 55 living units. One is vacant now so 54 are occupied. Morgan: How many received 50% damage? Scheetz: That depends upon the people you talk to. Twelve trailers had damage to the floor. Bartels: Not that many then. Scheetz: Most were at the right height. Some were damaged pretty bad. Still determining damage. Bartels: How old. Scheetz: It's not the age that counts. It's the condition of the trailer and what was in them. Brown: An old trailer might be worth $7,000.00. It wouldn't take much for $3,500.00 damage. Slaymaker: Are personal belongings counted in the 50% figure? Greenleaf: No. Brown: Replacing an entire flood would be costly. Morgan: Are they all privately owned? Scheetz: Yes. I don't own any of them.
