Stoner: Do we owe the clerk anything?
Clerk: My salary is based on 30 hours per week. I'd seldom go over a 40 hour week. I balance it all out.
Slaymaker: Do we have to pay it all at once?
Attorney: Yes.
Stoner: When is he going to take the test?
Hart: He'll take the next one. I told Bob we wouldn't need another operator if he was certified.
Morgan: The council should direct Bob to take the next test.
Potter: He gets a salary increase of $500.00 when he gets certified. Can we take the flood hours off of this amount since FEMA will reimburse the city?
Hart: Pay the full amount and city keeps any FEMA reimbursement.
Motion Brown second Stoner to pay Bob Herring for 137 hours of overtime claimed between July 1, 1988 and June 30, 1990 at a total sum of $1708.92 plus the city's contribution of $229.00 for IPERS and FICA. Carried unanimously.
Morgan: Do we need the part time help? It's cheaper to pay for part time help than the pay for overtime.
Potter: Should keep him another month to mow the grass.
Slaymaker: Does Bob turn in time sheets? That needs to be done.
Clerk: Bob has never turned in time sheets to me. That is a requirement of the FLSA. Since we found out we have to follow that, he'll need to start turning in time sheets. It calls for very specific recordkeeping.
Potter: How is the new water man working out?
Hart: I had to remind him that he works for Bob. He wanted to change a lot of things. I told Bob to call me if he wanted to make any changes. Some of the things were not a good idea.
Motion Slaymaker second Morgan to approve request for building permit from John Schneider to alter Ice Cream Store at 231 Marneog Road to install a drive trough area. Roll call vote: Slaymaker, aye; Stoner, aye; Morgan, aye; Brown, aye; Bartels, aye. Carried unanimously.
Schneider: I've had 3 units in the house at 210 Marengo Road for the last 12 years. I'd like to renovate the outside of the building, remove the garage and get a variance to allow room for 5 units. Parking would be in front and back. Building would be expanded to the north to allow room for 5 units. The garage is on the west side now.
L. Willimas: What are the regulations on this?
Clerk: It's currently an R-1 (single-family) zone. This was grandfathered in when the Zoning Ordinance was adopted in 1979. He'll have to have R-3 (multi-family) zoning. The Zoning Ordinance requires 3,000 sq. feet of lot space for each living unit and 1 1/2 parking spaces for each unit. The parking is included in the total
