Five members of the council being present and having voted “Aye”, Mayor Glenn R. Potter declared the motion carried, and the ORDINANCE NO. 2000-237 was passed and adopted. Whereupon Mayor Potter declared that ORDINANCE NO. 2000-237 be adopted and signified his approval of same by fixing his signature thereto. The building inspector has checked out the 310 Marengo Road house. Motion Ryan, second Gericke to not include any utility costs in a rental agreement and to approve Building Inspector Greg Schott to be responsible for tenant/owner responsibilities for the city. Ayes: Gericke, Dils, Bartels, Walls, and Ryan. Motion carried. No action on annexations. Trick or Treat night set for Tuesday, October 31. Open Burning for Daylight weekends of November. Special meeting set for Wednesday, October 25, 2000, 6:30 p.m. at the Tiffin Fire Station for budget work and annexation matters. Johnson County Fringe Area Agreement review on agenda for next regular meeting. First Tiffin Tree Day was held October 9th, Public Works Director Brett Mehmen was chair of the event. Thanks to city committee members including: Betty Madden, Carol Mead-Potter, Glenn Potter, Leonard Roggeveen, Terry Richardson, Steve Berner, Melvin Reeve, Karin and Greg Dils, Vic Zender, Mike Gericke, Dan O’Halloran, Jim and Darla Bartels, Margaret and Julie Reihman. Students of Clear Creek Amana High School participated in planting of trees. Erosion control for the new Rolling Hills and Songbird were considered. Motion Bartels, second Walls to accept clerk and treasurer’s reports. Ayes: Walls, Dils, Bartels, Gericke and Ryan. Motion carried. Motion Walls, second Dils to pay bills and accept receipts. Ayes: Ryan, Bartels, Walls, Dils and Gericke. Motion carried. Motion Gericke, second Walls to adjourn. Motion carried.
