ORDINANCE NO. 2008 - 291 AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 1985- 133 THAT ESTABLISHED A PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION AND REPLACING THE COMMISSION WITH AN AD HOC COMMITTEE FOR PARKS, RECREATION, FESTIVALS, AND TOURISM BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIFFIN, IOWA: Section 1. Purpose. The purpose of this ordinance is to repeal Ordinance No. 1985- 133 and to replace the commission with an ad hoc committee for Parks, Recreation, Festivals, and Tourism. Section 2. Repeal. After the hearing; the Tiffin City proper notice and a public Council hereby repeals Ordinance No. 1985- 133 entitled " An Ordinance Establishing a Park and Recreation Commission for the Purpose of Planning and Directing the Playgrounds and Parks of the City of Tiffin, Iowa". Section 3. Establishment of a Committee for the Parks, Recreation, and Festivals. The City Council hereby recognizes the existence of an ad hoc committee for the Parks, Recreation, Festivals, and Tourism; however, the Council does not desire to set any further rules and regulations for the Committee at this time. Section 4. Repealer. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are repealed. Section Severability. If any section, provision, or part of this ordinance 5. becomes invalid or unconstitutional, the adjudication will not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole, or any section, provision, or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional. Section 6. Effective Date. This ordinance will be in effect after its final passage, approval, and posting as provided by law. On the 12th day of March 2008, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa, Councilperson Wright introduced Ordinance No. 2008- 291, and moved that it be given its first reading.
