TOWN OF TIFFIN TIFFIN, IOWA 52340 The Tiffin City Council met in their regular Council Meeting at City Hall on July 3, 1974, 7:30 p.m. Mayor Brotherton presiding. Councilmen present: Beverly Birtcher, Bill Bream, Glenn Potter and Judy Smith. Absent: Roger Janssen. Also present Attorney Neuzil, Glenn Shoemaker, City Engineer and Ralph Brown, Director of Public Works. Glenn Potter moved to approve the minutes of the regular meeting on June 5, 1974. Judy Smith seconded the motion. Motion carried by roll call vote. Beverly Birtcher moved to approve the minutes of the special meeting held on June 12, 1974. Glenn Potter seconded the motion. Motion carried by roll call vote. Judy Smith moved to transfer $105.63 from General to Recreation fund. Bill Bream seconded the motion. Motion carried by roll call vote. Bill Bream moved to accept the Treasurer-Clerk's Report. Glenn Potter seconded the motion. Motion carried by roll call vote. Bill Bream moved to authorize Glenn Potter to spend $75.00 for expense of security personnel and disc jockey for street dance. Beverly Birtcher seconded the motion. Motion carried by roll call vote. Beverly Birtcher will contact Grover Swalley Wimpey on removal of tree stumps in park and by City Hall. Glenn Potter moved to authorize Glenn Shoemaker to investigate the deep well and shallow well specifications and to obtain sewer and water maps for Tiffin. Judy Smith seconded the motion. Motion carried by roll call vote. Glenn Potter moved not to accept the resignation of Bob Martin. Judy Smith seconded the motion. The vote was as follows: Judy Smith and Glenn Potter aye; Bill Bream and Beverly Birtcher abstained. Motion carried. Bill Bream left at this time. Glenn Potter moved to introduce a resolution providing for a notice of public hearing on proposed plans, specifications and form of contract for constructing sewage treatment facilities in and for the town of Tiffin, Iowa, and providing for taking bids in connection therewith. Judy Smith seconded the motion. Motion carried by roll call vote.
