Minutes-06/08/1981

Meeting of the City of Tiffin Planning and Zoning Commission was called to order at 7:05 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 1981 by Chairman, Wayne Stratton. Roll call: Dale Flansburg and Roger Janssen present, Mary Ann Hardliska and Bill Bream absent. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read. Some proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Tiffin, Ordinance No. 1989-83 were discussed. Janssen moved that the Planning and Zoning Commission recommend passage of amendments for creation of a Board of Adjustment and to redefine "dwelling" and "trailer" in order to exclude mobile homes from R-1 districts. The motion was seconded by Flansburg and carried unanimously. Flansburg moved that the Planning and Zoning Commission recommend that the site of the existing trailer court be rezoned to TC. The motion was seconded by Janssen and carried unanimously. Flansburg moved that the Planning and Zoning Commission make no recommendation on the proposal to allow existing lots of record to be developed according to their zoning. The motion was seconded by Janssen and carried unanimously. A motion was made by Flansburg that whereas the Planning and Zoning Commission has no powers and its recommendations have not been followed by the Mayor and Council and that a new Commission may be more in agreement with the thinking of the Council that this Commission be dissolved. The motion was seconded by Janssen and carried unanimously. The existing Planning and Zoning Commission dissolved at 8:05 p.m. WAYNE STRATTON, CHAIRMAN
