Rohret: How long did you know about your plans?
Johnston: We closed on the property ten days ago.
Rohret: I don't think that it was very fair to the city that we were given four days notice and you say you have to have an answer right now.
Johnston: I realize that.
Cox: Denny wanted to know if this would tie us into Bill Grace's property.
Sladek: They are two separate issues. You're looking at 50-100 houses there.
Sessions: I'd like to see the town stay the way it is. We left Iowa City to get some privacy. If more houses come in later, this is just the point of the iceberg.
Johnston: This house is going to be built whether it is under city or county or whatever. The way its plotted out it will be built without having to cut down any major trees.
Stoffer: In terms of this larger thing, our coming here is merely to accommodate Miss Potterfield. It is a separate issue.
Colleran: From a legal standpoint, there's no way you could annex only on the east side of the road?
Johnston: It's the law. Rogers' property could be joined if the Rogers wanted to come in.
Colleran: The 200 feet wide corridor does not extend to tract.
Johnston: It doesn't have to extend to tract. It extends to another piece of land. There is never less than 200 feet extending to the property.
Colleran: It does not extend to the property that will be built on according to the drawing.
Johnston: Yes, but it extends and creates a 200 foot tract which travels all the way up. The law says the ground adjacent shall be 200 feet wide. It could go to a point. The law doesn't address that.
Colleran: I still fail to see how the two tracts on the east side of the road adjoin the property already in town.
Johnston: It the point on the east side of the road the tracts are 200 feet.
Session: How much is roadway?
