CITY OF TIFFIN GROUNDS MAINTENANCE/UTILITIES DIRECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION Duties Relative to Operation of Water Plant: 1. * Operate and maintain water plant according to state and federal regulations. 2. * Keep records and fulfill all record and report obligations necessary to plant operation. 3. * Maintain and know locations of all lines and connections for water. 4. * Read water meters at least twice per year. Duties Relative to Operation of Wastewater Plant: 5. * Operate and maintain wastewater plant according to state and federal regulations. 6. * Keep records and fulfill all record and report obligations necessary to plant operation. 7. * Maintain and know locations of all lines and manholes in connection to the wastewater plant. Duties Relative to Grounds Maintenance: 8. * Patch streets and alleys whenever necessary. 9. * Clean culverts and ditches whenever necessary. 10. * Remove snow from streets and alleys and put sand on streets and alleys whenever necessary. 11. * Mow grass which belongs to the City and mow other grass and weeds as directed by the City Council. 12. * Install and maintain traffic and street signs. 13. * Maintain all sidewalks which belong to the City and repair whenever necessary. 14. * Oversee all construction within the city limits. Ask builder if he has a building permit. Supervise all hookups to water and sewer lines and make sure they meet City ordinance specifications. Supervise installation of culverts. General Duties: 15. * Maintain all vehicles and equipment such as pumps, blowers, motors, etc. 16. * Contact department head or Mayor on any matter that may require authorized or legal action. 17. * Authorized to sign for purchase of materials necessary to operation of utilities and grounds upkeep, up to $500.00. 18. * Carry out all other Council directives within a reasonable length of time.
