Mayor reported that Rex Flansberg resigned from the Board of Adjustment because he is moving out of town. Mayor appointed Dick Lehman to fill unexpired term for Rex Flansburg on the Board of Adjustment, term expiring September, 1992. Mayor reappointed Lloyd Willimas to term on the Board of Adjustment, term expiring September, 1994. Mayor reappointed Sandy Huedepohl and Bob Janssen to Planning and Zoning Commission, term expiring September, 1994. Eggers reported results of citizen survey as part of requirement for grant monies for new park show most citizens want a basketball court. Eggers said park commission would pursue combination basketball, volleyball and tennis court along with a picnic area. Estimates are still being gathered to determine cost. Hart reported that he spoke to Herring about sending occasional water samples to the University of Iowa hygienic lab as well as the DNR because U of I samples show "less results" than DNR samples. RESOLUTION TO APPROVE ANNUAL STREET FINANCE REPORT FOR FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 1989 was introduced by Morgan and seconded by Stoner. Roll call vote: Eggers, aye; Morgan, aye; Stoner, aye; Stratton, aye. Mayor declared Resolution No. 1989-8 adopted. Motion Stoner second Eggers to approve Annual Water Report for fiscal year ending June 30, 1989 to General Electric Credit Corp. Carried unanimously. Motion Stratton second Eggers to approve Annual Financial Report for fiscal year ending June 30, 1989 to Auditor, State of Iowa. Carried unanimously. Council consensus to approve mayor's signature of GTE application for right-of-way for fiber optic cable. Motion Eggers second Morgan to approve Clerk-Treasurer's reports. Carried unanimously.
