A meeting has been set to meet with IDOT officials regarding details of a sewer connection for the reststop area. City will agree with the 100% sewer rate plus additional 20% surcharge and make no change in the current 100% water rate plus additional 50% surcharge. This surcharge is requested by the city as the state reststop does not pay debt service levy that is used to meet long term debt on water and sewer facility improvements. Surcharge helps maintain an equitable contribution by users of the systems.
