Tiffin City Council November 8, 2000 A regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council was brought to order by Mayor Glenn R. Potter, 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 8, 2000 at the Tiffin Fire Station. Council members present: Jim Bartels, Mike Gericke, Mike Ryan, Karin Dils and Rodney Walls. Absent: None. Also present: School Board Member Linda Schrieber, Mr. and Mrs. Ned Allen, Greg Schott, P&Z Steve Berner and Melvin Reeve, and approximately five members of the public. Motion Bartels, second Ryan to approve the printed agenda and minutes. Ayes: Bartels, Walls, Dils, Gericke and Ryan. Motion carried. Motion Ryan, second Dils to introduce an ORDINANCE NO. 2000-239, AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE USE OF FIREARMS WITHIN THE CITY OF TIFFIN, and moved that it be given its first reading. Ayes: Walls, Bartels, Gericke, Ryan and Dils. Nays: None. Motion carried. Five members of the council being present and having voted “Aye”, Mayor Glenn R. Potter declared the motion carried, and Ordinance No. 2000-239 was read the first time and discussed and placed on record. Thereupon, it was moved by Councilperson Ryan, second Dils that the laws and rules providing that ordinance be considered and voted on for passage at two council meetings prior to the meeting at which it is to be finally approved be suspended and dispensed with and that Ordinance No. 2000-239 be placed on its last reading. Ayes: Ryan, Bartels, Gericke, Dils and Walls. Nays: None. Motion carried. Five members of the council being present and having voted “Aye”, Mayor Glenn R. Potter declared the motion carried and Ordinance No. 2000-239, was then placed on its last reading and was read for the last time. Thereupon, it was moved by Councilperson Ryan, and seconded by Councilperson Gericke that Ordinance No. 2000-239, AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE USE OF FIREARMS WITHIN THE CITY OF TIFFIN, be placed upon its final passage and adopted. Ayes: Gericke, Dils, Walls, Ryan and Bartels. Nays: None. Motion carried. Five members of the council being present and having voted “Aye”, Mayor Glenn R. Potter declared the motion carried, and the ORDINANCE #2000-239, AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE USE OF FIREARMS WITHIN THE CITY OF TIFFIN, was passed and adopted. Whereupon the mayor declared that Ordinance No. 2000-239, REGULATING FIREARMS, be adopted and signified his approval of same by fixing his signature thereto. Passed by the council on the 8th day of November, 2000 and approved by the mayor on the 8th day of November, 2000.
