City of Tiffin August 1, 2024 PROJECT UPDATE MSA has submitted utility information request letters to private utilities located within the corridor on 7/23/24 Comprehensive Water System Evaluation – Clint Wienen The Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) has been submitted to the DNR for their review and approval. The DNR requested that a waiver request be submitted for consideration for installing the base slab of the clearwell below the 100-year flood elevation. The waiver request has been submitted but we have not received any comments regarding the waiver request or the PER. Doug has reached out the Water Supply Engineering director and she indicated the review would be completed by the end of July. Approval has not been provided to date. Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Plant Design – Clint Wienen Bids were received for the procurement of the new generator and ATS and the electrical equipment and controls. Recommendations of award have been sent to the City. We are nearly finished with the design but are holding off on the submittal until the DNR provides a response on the variance request that was submitted for the clearwell. Pedestrian light (RRFB) on eastern leg of roundabout at Hwy 6 & Park Road. – Andrew Inhelder City Council approved RRFBs. Shop drawings have been sent to the DOT for review/approval. Vendor and DOT have been in communication regarding crash worthiness of the RRFB. Awaiting DOT Review/approval. Contractor to submit an updated schedule to install RRFBs once DOT has approved. Lead Service Line Inventory. – Andrew Inhelder MSA and City Staff have worked to identify known water service materials throughout town. MSA is currently updating a GIS model that the City can use into the future to track service line material/installation date. Once the model is ready, a report will be exported for submittal.
