ON-GOING PROJECTS
REVERSE OSMOSIS WATER TREATMENT PLANT DESIGN – CLINT WIENEN
The mass fill has been completed and MSA continues to monitor the settlement plates. TriCon cannot
proceed with construction until it is determined that the settlement is at an acceptable level. The alternate
trail has been paved as well.
HIGHWAY 6 CONCEPT AND COST ESTIMATE – JAMES WATTERS
Coordination with franchise utilities in the right-of-way remains ongoing. MSA continues to pursue
responses from utility coordinators who missed the June 16th due date for Preliminary work plans.
MSA is also working on a set of environmental documents for the DOT and gathering information to perform
an operational analysis for the intersection of Croell Avenue and US Highway 6.
SYSTEMWIDE SANITARY SEWER MODEL – ERIC THOMPSON
Flow meters continue to collect data in select locations within the sanitary sewer. One meter was removed
and recalibrated after seeing variability in flows during non-rain events, suggesting debris/calibration
issues. GIS data continues to be updated with missing invert information. Next steps will be importing the
GIS data into PCSWMM to start model development. Land use classification and sewersheds are also ready
to incorporate into the model.
NORTH PARK ROAD IMPROVEMENTS – JAMES WATTERS
Machine paving on the roundabout, roundabout legs, the Frontage Road, and the main line south of the
roundabout has been completed. Hand pours for a number of fillet and intersection areas are in progress.
With the pedestrian underpass covered, and the end sections have been poured, the next portion of the
road to be paved is the section from the roundabout to the Oak Hill entrance.
Both school sites remain accessible only from the north via the Oak Hill entrance. It is currently anticipated
that when school resumes in August, access by car and bus to Tiffin Elementary will be open from both
directions for each school. It is not yet known if both lanes will be open to traffic by the time school
resumes. Temporary pavement will be placed to transition vehicles from existing pavement to new
pavement near the Oak Hill entrance.
Remaining work for Stage 1 and 2 areas such as sidewalk/trail, median, roadway lighting, etc., is anticipated
to be completed in the fall.
