PROJECT UPDATE
NORTH PARK ROAD IMPROVEMENTS – JAMES WATTERS
As of August 25th, 2025, the south section of North Park Road including the new roundabout at the
Tiffin/Oak Hill Elementary School bus loop is open to traffic. Some work in this section is still being
completed but is expected to be finished by the end of the month.
The section of roadway between the roundabout and the main entrance of Oak Hill Elementary will remain
closed until all construction activities are completed. Remaining tasks include median pavement, sign
installation, pavement markings, roadway lighting installation, and seeding work. Once these items are
finished, Boomerang construction personnel are expected to leave the site. The reopening of this portion
of the road is anticipated between mid-September and mid-October 2025. Following the conclusion of the
2025 construction season, North Park Road is expected to be open to two-way traffic for the remainder of
the year until construction resumes in the Spring of 2026.
The majority of sidewalk/trail and the pedestrian underpass will not be available for public use following
the opening of North Park Road for this fall. Much of the sidewalk/trail is not yet constructed or does not
connect with other proposed or existing facilities.
An on-site safety meeting was held on August 8th to discuss conditions required for opening of the road to
the public as well as site safety and security concerns. Representatives from the City of Tiffin, MSA, CCACSD,
the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, and Boomerang were present.
The following week on August 14th, CCACSD staff were briefed on traffic control expected to be in place for
the “Back to School” events and for the start of classes.
VILLAGE DRIVE & ROBERTS FERRY ROAD SIGNAL DESIGN – CHAD WAGNER
Traffic counts at this intersection are being scheduled along with survey. A kickoff meeting will be scheduled
with City staff to discuss project once traffic counts are collected.
