RESOLUTION NO. 2026- 046 A RESOLUTION SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING DATE OF OCTOBER 6, 2026 ON THE PROPOSED ADOPTION OF THE CODIFIED CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF TIFFIN, IOWA WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa, recognizes the importance of maintaining a current, organized, and accessible Code of Ordinances for the benefit of City officials, staff, residents, businesses, and the general public; and WHEREAS, the City of Tiffin' s Code of Ordinances was last comprehensively codified in 2010; and WHEREAS, since that time, the City has adopted numerous ordinances amending, repealing, and adding provisions to the City Code; and WHEREAS, the City has worked with Iowa Codification to review, reorganize, update, and codify the City' s ordinances into a current and comprehensive Code of Ordinances; and WHEREAS, the proposed codified Code of Ordinances is intended to provide a clear, organized, and up- date compilation of the City' to- s ordinances, including amendments adopted since the 2010 codification; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to provide the public with an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed codified Code of Ordinances prior to its formal adoption. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, lowa, as follows: A public hearing shall be held by the Tiffin City Council to receive public comment regarding the proposed adoption of the newly codified Code of Ordinances of the City of Tiffin, Iowa. The public hearing shall be held on October 20 2026, at 7: 00 p.m.,at Tiffin City Hall, 300 Railroad Street, Tiffin, Iowa 52340. The City Clerk is hereby directed to provide notice of the public hearing in accordance with applicable provisions of the Code of Iowa and to make the proposed codified Code of Ordinances available for public inspection prior to the hearing. Following the public hearing, the City Council may consider any public comments and proposed revisions and may proceed with the formal adoption of the codified Code of Ordinances at a subsequent meeting, in accordance with applicable law.
