DocuSign Envelope ID: 6490DD94- 9465- 46CE- BO9F- 3A76CB849OD7 CITY OF TIFFIN ORDINANCE NO. 2019- 458 AN ORDINANCE TO ADOPT THE 2018 EDITION, INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CODE, INCLUDING APPENDIX K, AND THE 2018 EDITION INTERNATIONAL RESIDENTIAL CODE, INCLUDING APPENDIX F AND APPENDIX J, AND PROVIDING FOR CERTAIN AMENDMENTS THEREOF; ADOPTING SECTION 103. 6( 1)( a) OF THE CODE OF IOWA ( THE STATE ELECTRIC CODE) AND SECTION 105. 4( 1)( a) OF THE CODE OF IOWA ( STATE PLUMBING AND MECHANICAL CODES), AND AMENDING PROVISIONS OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF TIFFIN, IOWA, CHAPTER 156, HOUSING CODE, TO UPDATE BUILDING CODE PROVISIONS BE IT ENACTED by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa: Section I. Purpose: The purpose of this ordinance is to adopt the 2018 International Building Code, 2018 International Residential Code, 2018 International Fire Code, for the purposes of uniformity throughout the State, the State code has been amended to require all local jurisdictions to adopt the State Plumbing and Mechanical Codes; the Fuel Gas Code is contained in the State Plumbing Code; for uniformity in greater Johnson County area, the City should adopt the State Electrical Code, 2018 International Property Maintenance Code and to amend Chapter 155, Code of Ordinances, and to amend Chapter 156, Code of Ordinances, to update building code provisions. Section II. Adoption of Uniform Codes. Subject to the amendments described below, the 2018 International Building Code including appendix K and the 2018 International Residential Code including appendix F and appendix J, the Iowa State Electrical Code, the Iowa State Plumbing Code, the Iowa State Mechanical Code; 2018 International Property Maintenance Code are hereby adopted.
