Minutes-04/06/1974

TOWN OF TIFFIN TIFFIN, IOWA 52340 The regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council was held on Wednesday, April 6, 1974, 7:30 p.m. Mayor Brotherton presiding. Present: Bill Bream, Glenn Potter, Roger Janssen, Beverly Birtcher, Attorney Neuzil. Absent: Judy Smith. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Roger Janssen moved to accept the Treasurer-Clerk's report. Bill Bream seconded the motion. Discussion on 45 m.p.h. speed limit on Highway 6 through Tiffin. Attorney Neuzil will investigate. Representative from Crystal Klear Service present to discuss aquadene water treatment. Attorney Neuzil reported that city funds cannot be used to send flowers. Roger Janssen will contact Fire Association concerning firemen's compensation. Mr. Neuzil will talk with Dunton Insurance. Bill Bream moved that Attorney Neuzil draw up an agreement to be entered into with Clear Creek Community School for the lease of a room in the Administration Building to be used for offices by the City. The city will pay the school $175.00 per year for use, remove snow with blade from parking lot and will mow grass around Administration Building. Beverly Birtcher seconded the motion. Motion carried by roll call vote. Chair ruled to defer from the order of business in order to take care of bills and receipts at this time. Glenn Potter moved to accept receipts and pay the following bills. Bev Birtcher seconded the motion. Motion carried by roll call vote.
