CITY OF TIFFIN P.O. Box 92 Tiffin, Iowa Tiffin City Council met August 22, 1978 at 7:30 p.m. to hold a public hearing in City Hall. Mayor Formanek presiding opened the hearing at 7:32 p.m. Council members present: R. Sheridan, J. Stratton, G. Potter, T. Morgan and D. Madden. Also present: C. Ed. Koch, James and Darla Bartels, Adelia Kern, Ted Spivey, Ann Verry and Leland Smith. Public hearing was held to discuss acquisition of property adjacent to City Park. Mayor closed hearing at 8:40 p.m. He called roll for special meeting at 8:45 p.m. Mayor appointed R. Sheridan and T. Morgan to Public Safety committee, chaired by G. Potter. Following motions carried unanimously: Potter moved to purchase on contract L. Voparil property, Main Street adjacent to City Park under Plan I as offered by owner via negotiating committee. Sheridan seconded. Stratton moved to approve minutes from regular meetings, July 12th and August 9th. Potter seconded.
