Next item of business was #4 on the agenda. Greg Downes - request rezoning of Lots 3, 4, and 11 in the Sadler Subdivision from R-1 (single family residential) to R-2 (duplex).
Greg Downes: May I explain the plans I have for these requests. On Lot 4 interest has been shown by John Schneider and by the current owner to change the existing single family house on Lot 4 into a duplex. Lot 11 owners John and Frank Schneider bought the lot with the intention of building a duplex to provide a buffer zone next to the single family, and commercial use of the ice cream store. Lot 3, currently vacant, has had some interest from a couple of people for construction of a duplex. There has been no interest in it for a single family.
Greg did not talk to any property owners in the area about their feelings on these rezoning requests.
Delores Madden talked to several people living near College Street cul-de-sac who were concerned about the number of cars using the cul-de-sac. On Lot 11 there would be access right onto Highway 6 and would add to the Highway 6 traffic but not cul-de-sac traffic.
Greg Downes stated that Mr. Schneider had inquired and found it would be allowed to build an access onto Highway 6 for Lot 11.
Mary Hoefer: The petition from the citizens on May 7, 1981, was against rezoning to R-3, not R-2.
