Motion Rohret second Potter to accept Mayor's appointment for committee of Potter, Rohret and Spivey to study sewer rates and units for commercial users and to set sewer unit fee of $7.00 per month per unit. Carried unanimously. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1979-83 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF TIFFIN, IOWA BY CHANGING THE USE REGULATIONS OF CERTAIN PROPERTY FROM R-1 SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL TO R-3 MULTI-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL was introduced by Madden. Mayor Formanek read the ordinance and it was considered. Motion Potter second Spivey to adopt Ordinance No. 1981-101. Roll call vote: Madden, aye; Potter, aye; Spivey, aye; Rohret, aye; Williams, aye. Motion Potter second Madden to waive the rule or law requiring three reading of this ordinance on three different dates. Motion Spivey second Rohret to instruct Attorney Hoefer to write letter to John Schneider concerning his Ice Cream Store and to inform him that he is in violation of Ordinance 1979-83, Zoning Ordinance, and to give him a minimal amount of time to comply with the ordinance and put a hard surface on his driveway. Carried unanimously. Council instructed Potter to direct Ralph Brown to remove the old siren post and cut it in half and put reflectors on it and install it at the corner of Main and Railroad Streets to prevent vehicles from cutting the corner too short and dropping into the ditch and breaking the sidewalks. Motion Potter second Williams to instruct clerk to mail waterworks statement to the Clear Creek School District, as requested by board secretary Linda Schreiber, prior to the 25th of the month so payment can more easily be made before the 10th of the next month. Carried unanimously. Motion Rohret second Spivey to install telephone extension in clerk's home and to add listing "If no answer call 645-2617" to telephone directory. Carried unanimously.
