Brown reported that State Fire Marshall inspected above ground storage tanks for kerosene and gasoline and oil at Voparil's Gas and Grocery and at Morgan's Standard. State sent notification to Voparil and Morgan requiring barrier around tanks to prevent vehicle from running into tanks and a dike around the tanks the prevent spillage of liquid onto other property. State will not inspect again to see if requirements are carried out. Voparil has installed railroad ties around tank. Morgan plans to drain tank and let it sit empty. Discussion of whether Johnson County Sheriff's Department should write violations under City or State Code. Brown and Stevens favored using State Code. Rohret and Spivey favored using City Code. Barbara Murray reported that Tiffin does not have a chance of getting enough points to qualify for a Community Development Block Grant.
