Minutes-11/11/1985

The Tiffin City Council met in regular session on Wednesday, September 11, 1985 at the Tiffin fire station. Mayor Potter called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Council members present were Cox, Morgan, Runge, Spivey and Stevens. Also present were Attorney Greenleaf, Bill Runge, Engineer Snyders, Julia Lyons, Margaret Hennes, Tom Morgan, Clyde Blish and several members of the high school government class. During community forum Potter reported that K-Mart and Readers Digest are donating $500.00 to the Clear Creek High School library to be presented by the mayor on September 20th. During community forum Tom Morgan reported that 700 feet of fire hose costs about $1470.00. The 700 feet of hose is one item needed to improve Tiffin's fire rating from 7 to 6. The Fire Association has agreed to donate about $1500.00 for other items. Motion Spivey second Stevens to approve agenda. Carried unanimously. Motion Morgan second Stevens to approve minutes of regular meeting August 14, 1985 and special meetings August 28, September 4 and 5, 1985. Carried unanimously. Council deferred discussion of Service Enterprise contract until arrival of attorney. Motion Morgan second Runge to appoint Paul Slaymaker and Dennis Brown to five year terms on the Planning and Zoning Commission. Carried unanimously. Motion Stevens second Spivey to appoint Roger Janssen to a five year term on the Board of Adjustment. Carried unanimously. Motion Spivey second Cox to donate $1500.00 to the Tiffin Fire Department for purchase of 700 feet of fire hose for fire truck in order to improve Tiffin's fire rating from seven to six. Roll call vote: Spivey aye; Stevens, aye; Runge, aye; Morgan, aye; Cox, aye. A RESOLUTION NAMING DEPOSITORIES was introduced by Runge and seconded by Morgan. Clerk read resolution. Roll call vote: Spivey, aye; Stevens, aye; Runge, aye; Morgan, aye; Cox, aye. Mayor declared resolution adopted.
