Minutes of Tiffin City Council Dec. 11, 1985 The Tiffin City Council met on Wednesday, December 11, 1985 at the Tiffin fire station in order to conduct a public hearing on request by Tim Blessing to rezone lot no. 3 of Sadler Subdivision from R-1 to C-1. Mayor Potter called public hearing to order at 6:30 p.m. Council members present were Morgan, Runge, Spivey and Stevens. Cox was absent. Also present were Phil Seydel, Dave Stoner, Bill Runge, Jean Flansbrug and Vicki Keith. Tim Blessing was not present. Seydel expressed concern with rezoning to commercial use in this area and asked that area remain residential. Council took minutes of P&Z into consideration. Motion Stevens second Spivey to deny request by Tim Blessing for rezoning of lot no. 3 of Sadler Subdivision at 318 College Street from R-1 single-family residential to C-1 commercial. Roll call vote: Stevens, aye; Spivey, aye; Runge, aye; Morgan, aye; Cox, absent. Public hearing adjourned at 6:37 p.m. Mayor Potter called regular meeting to order at 6:37 p.m. Council members present were Morgan, Runge, Spivey, Stevens. Cox was absent. Motion Spivey second Morgan to approve agenda. Carried unanimously. Motion Runge second Morgan to approve minutes of regular meeting November 13 and special meetings November 26 and December 9, 1985. Carried unanimously. Robert Thompson was not present. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN AND THE CITY CLERK TO ATTEST A 28E AGREEMENT AMONG THE CITY OF TIFFIN, IOWA, AND CERTAIN OTHER CITIES AND INDEPENDENT FIRE DISTRICTS IN JOHNSON COUNTY, IOWA, FOR MUTUAL FIRE AID PROTECTION was introduced by Morgan and seconded by Stevens. Clerk read resolution. Roll call vote: Spivey, aye; Runge, aye; Morgan, aye; Stevens, aye. Cox, absent. Mayor declared Resolution No. 1985-16 adopted. Mayor set date for next regular council meeting as Tuesday, January 7, 1986 at 7:00 p.m. due to conflict of scheduling with Tiffin Fire Association.
