Text read by the vision model; check the PDF for anything that matters.Paul Slaymaker: Not wide enough for two pick up trucks and kids on the side.
Hart: School could close the gate at the school.
Mayor Potter: If they leave the gate open, it's their problem.
Tim Spivey: It would reduce the traffic. We could start a petition to the school to use the truck route.
Mayor Potter: They could go one way from College to Third.
Linda Herring: If they'd enforce the rules.
Rita Verry: The buses use College Street, not the truck route.
Mayor Potter: We've asked them to use Grant Street and not College. There's a better base on Grant Street. College Street is not strong enough for heavy traffic. I'll call the school and ask them to use Grant Street for their buses.
Tim Spivey: The school could ask the kids to use the truck route, too.
Sandra Morgan: They can't enforce that.
Mayor Potter: Do any of the council members have anything to add?
Stratton: No. Stoner: No. Eggers: No. Morgan: No. Spivey: No.
Paul Slaymaker: I want a sidewalk going down to the school. My kids would walk on the sidewalk.
Nancy Hoyt: It's the parents' responsibility to teach the kids to walk on the sidewalks.
Tim Spivey: I'd ask the school to cooperate first, before you put up the barricades.
Sandra Morgan: We can't make a street off limits.
Tim Spivey: It would reduce the traffic one way.
Sandra Morgan: If we make the whole street one way, we'd have others asking for the same thing. We'd have problems with that.
Nancy Hoyt: The majority of kids walk down that street. It's the main problem area.
Sandra Morgan: Other people might want a one way by their house. Could the school make a bus stop at the trailer court?
Linda Herring: The transportation director says that the school does not have to make any stops within three miles of the school.
