Morgan: You have dwelling units. Scheetz: What's commercial? Clerk: Businesses such as the locker, the school, The Lark, Slim's, but he pays the town for the apartments overhead. Stratton: If we let you out, others would want out, too. Eggers: Wolfe also complained about the condition of the dumpster. He said the bottom is falling out. With a dumpster, it's hard to pinpoint who throws in the large items. Scheetz distributed a listing of water and sewer bills paid. Scheetz: I don't have control over the trailers. Some tenants let the water run. I don't know how to correct it. Morgan: You could cover the cost in the lot rent. Scheetz: Lot rent is not enough. Bob called me just last week about a leak. One tenant had a stool running and was using 12,000 gallons daily. He said I had not right to come in and inspect the trailer to look for the leak. He said he couldn't afford to fix it. How much does 12,000 gallons cost? Clerk: $36.50. Last year, the each trailer average 5600 gallons per month. Stoner: Individual meters? Clerk: I charge the minimum fee for 55 units, then add the extra 1,000;'s on. Stratton: It sounds like you can't control what the people do. Scheetz: I could fix it all up myself, I guess. Stratton: How many people live in each trailer? Scheetz: A lot are singles. Morgan: What's the issue here? Scheetz: I need to be notified sooner when there's a leak. Eggers: If I have a water leak, it's up to me to find it. Clerk: Bob reads the meters once per month for rental properties. If there's a large leak, he looks at the school, the Lark and the trailer court. Morgan: It's not Bob's responsibility. Someone needs to be more in control of the court. Scheetz: Someone should notify me if there's a leak. I can't tell if one trailer is using a lot of water. Spivey: You could raise the water prices. Scheetz: That's not fair to everyone then. Spivey: If water usage is especially high one day, Bob looks for the leak and then notifies the owner. In the future, Bob can notify you as soon as he sees something out of the ordinary. Scheetz: The last one took a week to find. All in all, he does an excellent job with it. Would you let me out of the garbage pick up by the town? Morgan: The town couldn't enforce anything then. We'd have no control. I'd feel really bad if a child got hurt in an appliance sitting out. Stoner: I agree. We'd set a precedent for other homes, too. Stratton: You don't have to use the pick up, but you have to pay for it. If we let you out, others would do the same. Scheetz: You could consider me commercial. Morgan: The ordinance says dwellings. Spivey: We've discussed this before. Scheetz: I'm not too happy about the garbage truck breaking up my streets.
