Hart: Driveways and culverts on private property will add up. Everyone in the drainage area probably has damage.
Potter: Johnson County brought 3 truck loads of sand and will probably send a bill for that. We will need to replace 68 gallons of their fuel also. We used the county pumper in the sewer plant.
Herring: The motor guages in the dry well at the sewer plant don't work.
Potter: Everyone did a super job. We're not sure what we did was right, but we never had to do it before. The sewer plant was covered. We hauled out the motors and dried them out. We think we saved them. Herring did a good job. He worked very hard. He pumped 240,000 gallons of water in 4 hours at the sewer plant. Up until the flood, Bob had 105 extra hours. We have discussed his taking time off before, but it's really not possible. So far in June he has 180 extra hours. We will owe him 211 hours. I don't know if we can pay him a bonus or pay him some overtime.
Bartels: What about comp time?
Potter: We wouldn't see him for a month.
Bartels: Consider use of it.
Potter: How it's supposed to work is if he works 12 hours one day he can work 4 hours another day. He can't keep it evened up. There's too much going on this year. What does the attorney say?
Attorney: I don't have an immediate answer. I'll look into it before the meeting. There are existing laws governing wages paid, but it depends upon your contract with Bob.
Potter: I told Bob to get some part-time help to help clean up after the flood. Roger Janssen called me about Dave working for the town. Bob Herring, Jr. has done snow removal last winter for free. I think he ought to get first chance. The firemen and First Responders are tired out.
Brown: Do we have a contingency plan so Bob won't have to be at the sewer plant 24 hours a day?
Potter: We took turns at the plant.
Morgan: Could we wire the lights higher in the new building and get the electricity up into it?
Hart: The electrical service runs through a pipe. The main disconnect and control panel are in bad shape. They'll be moved up.
Morgan: What do we pay for part-time help?
Clerk: $5.00 per hour.
Herring: The cleanup will take a long time.
Potter: Stack the bags on pallets in the maintenance building.
