Tiffin City Council August 25, 1999 A special meeting of the Tiffin City Council was brought to order by Mayor Glenn R. Potter, Wednesday, August 25, 1999 at the Tiffin Fire Station. Council present: Jim Bartels, Mike Gericke and Mike Ryan. Absent: Rodney Walls and Alan Kern. Also present: Engineer Mike Hart, Fire Chief Tom Bigelow, Clarence Sewell and Attorney Stephen Greenleaf. Meeting set for the purpose of considering building permit and plan problems at Lots 23, 24, 25, and 26 located at the south end of Iris Avenue at Iris Court. These four lots are being built on by Mr. Sewell and he is lacing space for garages and parking spaces. Fire Chief Tom Bigelow did not believe that a fire truck would be able to enter the location for fire protection, and that a fire would probably be fought from the location of the Post Office. Lengthy discussion followed on findings made by city engineer Mike Hart in this location. Motion Ryan, second Bartels that it be the consensus of the council that pending all public hearing and legal procedures as required by law the City of Tiffin will sell to Mr. Clarence Sewell owner of this building location the adjacent city right of way consisting of approximately 7,853 sq. feet for a cost of $20,000.00. The purchase will be contingent upon all properly followed legal procedures and also the following agreements with Mr. Sewell. 1. That all easements including sanitary sewer, storm sewer, water and any other utility now and in the future be granted to the city. 2. That ingress and egress easements be granted to the city. 3. That the four individual lots be joined into one parcel and drainage of the lots follow review and acceptance of the city engineer. Any objection by the public may nullify this consensus decision of the council and this decision would then be no longer effective. Council and city attorney addressed problem of barking and nuisance dogs. Motion carried to adjourn. 7:40 p.m. Glenn R. Potter, Mayor City of Tiffin Margaret B. Reihman, Clerk
