Minutes of Regular Council Meeting, December 1, 1965, Tiffin, Iowa Present: Wayne Stratton, Glenn Potter, Ted Spivey, Bill Verry, Bill Bream Absent: None Meeting was called to order by Mayor O'Toole. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. OLD BUSINESS: Sewer: Councilman Potter, after due consideration and discussion, proposed the following resolution and moved its adoption. RESOLUTION To fix a date for the initiation of proceedings for the issuance of $98,000 Sewer Revenue Bonds of the Town of Tiffin, Iowa WHEREAS, heretofore and in strict compliance with Chapter 394 of the Code of Iowa, this Town did order constructed and did construct a sewage works and facilities and a sewage treatment plant at a cost of approximately $98,000.00; and WHEREAS, the Town has issued Sewer Revenue Pledge orders and delivered the same to the contractor or contractors to pay a portion of the cost of such improvement or improvements, which pledge orders with interest now exceed $98,000; and WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable and necessary and for the best interests of the Town and its inhabitants that the Town now issue $98,000 Sewer Revenue Bonds, pursuant to Chapter 394 of said Code of Iowa, for the purpose of funding such temporary revenue obligations now outstanding. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Tiffin, Johnson County, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. That this Council will meet at the Firehouse in this Town on the 21st day of December, 1965, at 6:30 o'clock P.M., CST., at which time and place it proposes to institute proceedings for the issuance of the bonds referred to in the preamble hereof. Section 2. That the Town Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to give notice of the Town's intention to issue the said bonds as required by Section 23.12 of said Code. Such notice shall be published in the IOWA CITY PRESS-CITIZEN, a newspaper published in the city of Iowa City, Iowa, and of general circulation in the Town of Tiffin, Iowa, such publication to be on a day not less than fifteen days prior to such hearing. Section 3. Said notice shall be in form substantially as follows: NOTICE OF MEETING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF SEWER REVENUE BONDS The Town Council of the Town of Tiffin, in Johnson County, Iowa, will meet within said Town on the 21st day of December, 1965, at the Firehouse Tiffin, Iowa, at 6:30 o'clock P.M., CST., at this time and place proceedings will be instituted and action taken for the issuance of $98,000 Sewer Revenue Bonds of said Town, said bonds being issued pursuant to Section 394.12 of the Code of Iowa, for the purpose of refunding a like amount of outstanding temporary sewer revenue obligations of said Town heretofore issued to pay the cost of constructing a sewage works and
