Mayor Bream read a letter from Area 10 about a meeting for local government officials who would like to learn about local government. The Clerk will attend the meeting, which is June 11. A letter was read from the Johnson County Civil Defense Agency about a budget meeting of the Civil Defense Council. This meeting is June 5. Bill Bream and Fred Moore will attend this meeting. Discussion was held on the sewer rental system. Some people are about two years behind in their payments. Others have vacant houses and are not paying rental on the sewer. It was decided to wait until the next meeting to discuss the matter further. Glenn brought up that something should be done about all the bugs. Bill Bream will get something to spray them and he and Glenn will do the spraying. Discussion was held on the weeds on some people's property. Glenn will contact the County Health Officer to see if he will come out and inspect Volkman's and Chapman's properties. The road weight embargo signs are now ready for installation. They will be placed on most of the streets, but not the farm to market road. James Brotherton would like a driveway on the west side of his house. The Town will furnish the tube after Mr. Brotherton gets the approval for the driveway from the Highway Commission and the County Commission.
