Minutes of Special Council Meeting, Tiffin, Iowa, January 2, 1970. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Bream. Present: Ned Allen, Dale Flansburg, Jerry Michel, Glenn Potter, and Ted Spivey. Absent: None. The newly elected mayor, council, and clerk were sworn in. Newly appointed officers are: Edna Miller- Treasurer, DeWaine Slade- Marshall, Ted Spivey- Mayor Pro-Tem, Glenn Potter- Street Commissioner, and Kandy Kobold, Clerk. Dale Flansburg and Jerry Michel were appointed to make reports on the water and sewer systems. It was decided to meet the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30 P.M. Ned Allen was appointed as recreation chairman. Ned Allen made the motion and Glenn Potter seconded the motion to pay Fred Moore $3.00 for the December 22 council meeting. All in favor. There have been complaints from Townspeople about the paper kids discarding their wires and paper wrappers by the Post Office. The Clerk will write the Press*Citizen, The Gazette, and the Register to see if they would help pay costs for garbage pick up if the Town would put a garbage can by the Post Office.
