Dale Flansburg made the motion not to help pay for the operation of the dump at Oxford, since many people in Town have their garbage picked up regularly and others haul their own. Ned Allen seconded it. By a roll call vote it was Aye- Allen, Flansburg, Michel, and Potter. Nay- None. The Clerk will write the Clerk of Oxford telling her of the decision and the reason for it. Sheriff Maynard Schneider explained to the council about the agreement the Sheriff's Dept. would like to make with the Town. Instead of towns sending their marshalls to the law acamedy many are contracting with the county Sheriff's Depts. for extra police protection. This service costs the Town $3 an hour for a man and patrol car. The schedule for the patrolling will be determined by the Sheriff and the Mayor. Mr. Schneider thought that Tiffin would need about $1500 worth of services. This will be in addition to the patrolling that is already done in Town, which will continue whether we contract with the Sheriff's Dept. or not. Either party must give six month's advance notice if they wish to terminate the contract. The Council decided to study this further and decide at the June meeting if they wish to enter in this contract. The problem of the mosquitos in the slough by the Railroad tracks was discussed. Mr. Neuzil will contact the Health Dept. about this. Ned Allen made the motion to approve Mrs. John Madden's application for a building permit for a porch. Glenn Potter seconded the motion.
