ATTACHMENT A: SCOPE OF SERVICES Project Background The City of Tiffin drilled (2) test wells in 2022. Both were drilled into the Silurian aquifer. One of the test wells was drilled approximately 550 feet southeast of the water plant and the other well was drilled east of Jim Bartels City Park. The City decided to put the well east of Jim Bartels City Park into service which was named Well #5. Because of the growth of the City and increased water demand, the City has decided to proceed with putting the test well that is located southeast of the water plant, which is to be named Well #6, into service. The City of Tiffin commissioned MSA Professional Services to provide design services required to utilize the well for water production. Project Description The first step we would recommend is to acidize and test pump the well to determine what the expected production of the well will be. MSA would assist the City is soliciting quotes from well drillers for these services. Once the expected production is established, MSA would size the distribution water main from the well to the water plant. The intent is that power to the well would be fed from the water plant so that the generator that is located at the water plant could also be utilized for standby power. A small (approximately 10’x10’) wellhouse would be constructed to house the controls for the well. The raw water piping will not surface within the wellhouse, rather metering and sampling will occur in a proposed below-grade metering vault. SCOPE OF SERVICES 1.
