PROJECT UPDATE
Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Plant Design – Clint Wienen
The Geotechnical Report is expected to be completed by March 1, 2024. A couple of items worth noting:
• The existing fill material that will be underneath the footings of the RO Building will need to be
removed and replaced with engineered fill (approximately 7’).
• Significant settlement (2-3”) is expected once the new fill is placed (2-3”). However, the
settlement is expected to be rapid (2-3 weeks).
Drawings from Harn for the RO skids were received on February 23. We are expecting to have 30% design
drawings completed by the end of March and will schedule a meeting with City staff members at that time.
Trail Connection between Roundabout and Parking Lot – Andrew Inhelder
Final punch list walkthrough was performed on February 27th.
• MSA is monitoring seed growth, contractor will reseed if needed and erosion control will be
removed after seed has established.
• Contractor will paint markings as per plan when temperatures allow.
• Electrical repair of Bella Salla sign is pending electricians schedule.
Pedestrian light (RRFB) on eastern leg of roundabout at Hwy 6 & Park Road.– Andrew Inhelder
Iowa DOT has provided comments stating that they would be in support of RRFBs on this side of the roundabout as
long as they are MUTCD compliant. MSA has solicited several contractors for pricing on an RRFB and are waiting for
responses.
