PROJECT UPDATE  A Review of MSA Projects in Your Community City of Tiffin, IA CLIENT LIAISON: Andrew Inhelder, PE Office: 319.364.4773 Cell(s): 515.802.0906 [email protected] DATE: February 28, 2024 ON-GOING PROJECTS North Park Road Improvements – James Watters MSA is awaiting notice of funding through State Wide Transportation Alternative Program (TAP). Anticipate notice in Spring 2024. MSA is awaiting NEPA clearance from the Iowa Department of Transportation Location and Environment Bureau (IaDOT LEB) regarding the environmental impacts of the project. MSA anticipates having a response in Late March MSA and City met on February 2nd to discuss the following items currently at a 60% design level. • Construction staging and traffic control • Right-of-way o Cannot proceed with right-of-way acquisition until NEPA clearance is received from IaDOT LEB • Water main construction • Environmental process o Awaiting NEPA clearance from IaDOT LEB • Development adjacent to North Park Rd Utility coordination meeting for the project is scheduled for March 26 at 11 am at City Hall. Highway 6 Concept and Cost Estimate – James Watters Topographic and boundary survey for the project is complete. During field survey, many of the marked utilities were either not marked by locates or the markings were disturbed by snow events in January. Additional trips to pickup location of private utilities in these areas will be required later in design. Contract for design services was submitted to City for approval at next council meeting on Feb 15, 2024. Kickoff meeting with IowaDOT D6 staff to discuss scope and schedule of the project is scheduled for March 13, 2023 at 9:00 am via video conference call.
