______________________________________________________________________________ CITY OF TIFFIN CITY ADMINISTRATOR REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL August 29, 2025 • The North Park Road Project continues to be on schedule and was open for the first day of school. The road is open up to the roundabout, which includes the frontage road in front of Tiffin Elementary but continues to be closed from the north side of the roundabout to the entrance to Oak Hill Elementary. Work continues in that area but once completed, the road will be open to two-way traffic through the winter until work resumes next spring. • The City passed a significant procedural step in the Highway 6 expansion project this week. The environmental review process has been completed and the project has a conditional clearance from the need for any individual environmental action by the Federal Highway Administration. This is really good news for the project and for maintaining the proposed schedule. • Work continues with the Special Census. The internet self-response period that starts next week with the first mailing being sent out on September 4th. We believe we have the space requirements for bureau’s team resolved but as we talked at the last meeting, that means our next several council meetings will be held at the Springmier Library. This will start with the September 16th council meeting. Attached is a detailed breakdown of the events and outreach that have taken place so far and those that are scheduled. • Attached is the Outstanding Obligations Disclosure Statement for 2025. This is an annual report submitted to the State that shows all the City’s outstanding notes, amounts, purpose and classification. This is not a report that requires council approval. This ‘financial snapshot’ is simply for the council’s information. • This is just a friendly reminder of this year’s Iowa League of Cities Annual Conference being held in Des Moines, September 17-19. As the date gets closer, we will coordinate transportation to the conference. Here is the link to the conference schedule. https://iowaleague.org/workshops-events/annual-conference/workshop-amp-events- schedule2/ • Just another friendly reminder of the groundbreaking ceremony for the recreation center is scheduled for Tuesday, September 16th at 10:00 a.m. More information to come as the date gets closer.
