one of those full time. Average response per incident is 5.28 people (goal is 10 within 10 minutes, per NFPA
1720). Chief Hill discussed a few options for a Fire Stations including current location. First location was
Forevergreen Rd and Bailey Way. Pros: Easy access to I-380; potential JCAS collaboration. Cons: Not
centrally located; near other jurisdictions. ISO Coverage: Engine – 1.5 mi radius | Aerial – 2.5 mi radius.
Second location was the existing location. Pros: Central location; near I-80 & Hwy 6. Cons: JCAS prefers I-
380 access; site constraints. ISO Coverage: Same as above. Third location was on Highway 6 near the
ballfields. Pros: Central, near Hwy 6, not in a neighborhood. Cons: Lacks I-380 access; alternative use
considerations. ISO Coverage: Same. Each location had pros and cons, however Chief Hill recommended
building a new station either at the existing site or Highway 6. Would like to being a design and budget for
fundraising as well as timeline. Some current and future needs for the fire department are: larger bay,
meeting room, offices/bunks/storage, JCAS space, carcinogen-free design, training space, more
