BUDGET CALENDER Below is the Proposed Budget Calendar for this year’s process. Please mark these dates on your calendar. December/January – Departmental review of current budget and forecast of FY 2026-2027 Budget January 6th – Condensed Goal Setting Session prepping for potential FY 2026-2027 minor projects January 20st – Budget work session with City Council February 3rd – Budget work session with City Council February 10th – Budget work session with City Council (if necessary) February 17th – Budget work session with City Council. Complete Proposed Tax Rate form March 5th – Submit Proposed Tax Rate form to Iowa Department of Management March 17th – Set Public Hearing for Proposed Tax Rate form April 7th – Public Hearing on Proposed Tax Rate form and set Notice of Public Hearing for adoption of FY 2026-2027 Budget April 21st – Budget Public Hearing and Adoption April 30th – Certified Budget to County Auditor and filed with the Department of Management July 1st – Certified Budget takes effect
