RESOLUTION NO. 2025- 008 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 28E AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF NORTH LIBERTY, THE CITY OF TIFFIN, THE CITY OF CORALVILLE, AND JOHNSON COUNTY, IOWA FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A ROUNDABOUT AT THE INTERSECTION OF FOREVERGREEN ROAD AND JASPER AVENUE WHEREAS, the City of North Liberty, the City of Tiffin, the City of Coralville and Johnson County, Iowa, agree that the construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Forevergreen Road and Jasper Avenue is necessary and appropriate; and, WHEREAS, the Cities and stakeholders have agreed to adopt a concept plan set forth by the City of North Liberty for the construction of said roundabout, and wish to move forward with a public improvement project for its construction ( the " Project"); and, WHEREAS, the entities desire to set forth the allocation of funding, costs and other responsibilities in an agreement; and, WHEREAS, Chapter 28E of the Code of Iowa provides the authority for public agencies to enter into agreements for their mutual advantage; and, WHEREAS, this Agreement is made and entered into by the City of North Liberty and the City of Tiffin and the City of Coralville and Johnson County, Iowa; and, NOW BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Tiffin, Iowa that the Mayor is hereby authorized to sign and execute the Chapter 28E Agreement for the Construction of a Roundabout at Forevergreen Road and Jasper Avenue, which a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Tiffin City Council that said Agreement is hereby approved as to form and content and is found to be in the best interest of the City of Tiffin, Iowa and the eligible political subdivisions that adopt these Articles of Agreement; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of Tiffin that the City Clerk is hereby authorized to file a copy of this Resolution and Agreement with the Secretary of State, as required by Chapter 28E, Iowa Code. On the 21st day of January, 2025, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa, Councilperson Orris introduced RESOLUTION NO. 2025- 008,A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 28E AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF NORTH LIBERTY, THE CITY OFTIFFIN, THE CITY OF CORALVILLE, AND JOHNSON COUNTY, IOWA FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A ROUNDABOUT AT THE INTERSECTION OF FOREVERGREEN ROAD AND JASPER AVENUE and made a motion for approval. Motion seconded by Councilperson Limkemann. Ayes: Olney, Schnedler, Limkemann, Havens, Orris. Nays: None. Absent: None.
