The Parks & Grounds Specialist requires:
• Higher equipment operation expectations
• Snow removal duty
• Pesticide certification
• CDL
• Higher physical demand rating
• Responsibility for sports field operations and safety inspections
Recommendation
Staff recommends that City Council approve the creation of the Parks & Grounds Specialist position.
Direct that the position be formally included in the City’s ongoing wage and classification stud. Approve
the attached job description dated January 14, 2026; and authorize staff to proceed with recruitment
following union approval.
