April 3, 2017 VIA EMAIL Doug Boldt City Administrator/City Hall Tiffin, Iowa Re: 2017 Park Place Commercial Urban Renewal Area Our File No. 436989-16 Dear Doug: We have prepared the attached materials which will enable the City Council to act on April 4, 2017 to set May 2, 2017 as the date for a public hearing on the establishment of the 2017 Park Place Commercial Urban Renewal Area and on an urban renewal plan for the Area. The notice which is included in the attached resolution must be published once, not less than four (4) and not more than twenty (20) days prior to the date selected for the hearing. The last date on which the notice can effectively be published is April 28, 2017. Please print a separate copy of the notice for delivery to the newspaper. In addition to publishing the notice of a hearing, a copy of the urban renewal plan must be submitted to the Planning and Zoning Commission, and the Commission must provide a written recommendation to the City Council with respect to whether the urban renewal plan is in conformance with the City’s general or comprehensive plan. Also, a “consultation session” must be set up with the local county and school district. Please refer to my separate letter attached for further details.
