Minutes of Regular Council Meeting, June 7, 1972, Town of Tiffin, Tiffin, Iowa. Mayor Stratton presiding. Councilmen present: Kobold, Davis, Spivey. Absent: Bream, Potter and Att. Neuzil. Minutes of May 3, 1972 Council Meeting read and approved. James Brotherton present to apply for a remodeling permit for The Tiffin Sign Shop and to include a new sidewalk. He states the exterior of the building is not to be changed. Also applying for a permit to move a building on his property north of Highway #6, to another location on the property. Ted Spivey made a motion to grant Mr. Brotherton a moving permit for the building, according to the plans presented to the Council. Kandy Kobold seconded. All in favor by roll call vote. Ted Spivey made a motion to grant Mr. Britherton a remodeling permit for the Tiffin Sign Shop. Don Davis seconded. All in favor by roll call vote. Discussions: Contact the Light Co. about cutting down a tree on Mrs. Lee Files property. Ralph Brown to haul away the debris. Clerk to write to DeWaine Slade about removing his personal property from the Town Shed at his earliest convenience. If not removed in 30 days, the Town will assume he does not want it. Ted Spivey made a motion to approve the cigarette permits applications from Lark, Slim's Tavern, The Corral, Franks, and The Tiffin Grocery. Kandy Kobold seconded. All in favor by roll call vote. Ted Spivey made a motion to have the Clerk write a letter to the J.C. Board of Supervisors informing them that the Town has a storm sewer which is in use, that runs South from Railroad St. under the railroad tracks and comes out on the east side of the road to be improved. (Road 1 mile south of Tiffin to be improved) This storm sewer must be maintained or relocated. Kandy Kobold seconded. All in favor by roll call vote.
