TOWN OF TIFFIN TIFFIN, IOWA 52340 Minutes of the Regular Council Meeting, January 2, 1974, 7:30 p.m., City of Tiffin, Tiffin, Iowa. Mayor Brotherton presiding. Present: Judy Smith, Beverly Birtcher, Roger Janssen, Glenn Potter, Attorney Neuzil, Edna Miller. Glenn Potter moved that the minutes of the meeting held on December 5, 1973, 7:30 p.m. be approved. Beverly Birtcher seconded the motion. Motion carried by roll call vote. Glenn Potter moved that the minutes of the Special Meeting held on December 27, 1973, 7:30 p.m. be approved. Roger Janssen seconded the motion. Motion carried by roll call vote. Glenn Potter moved that the minutes of the Special Meeting of January 2, 1974, 8:00 a.m. be approved. Roger Janssen seconded the motion. Motion carried by roll call vote. Beverly Birtcher moved that six notebooks and 6 spiral notebook fillers be purchased for the Council. Roger Janssen seconded the motion. Motion carried by roll call vote. Judy Smith moved that the Council approve the Mayor's appointments as follows: Treasurer - Edna Miller Deputy Clerk - Judy Smith Mayor-Pro-tem - Glenn Potter Recreation - Glenn Potter Street Commissioner - Judy Smith Sewer Commissioner - Roger Janssen Water Commissioner - To-be-appointed Judy Smith Forester - Beverly Birtcher City Attorney - Ralph Neuzil Roger Janssen seconded the motion. Motion carried by roll call vote. Glenn Potter moved that Council meetings be held on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. Beverly Birtcher seconded the motion. Motion carried by roll call vote. Roger Janssen moved that a resolution be passed commending the Mayor and Council of 1972-73 for the work done during their term of office. Judy Smith seconded the motion. Motion carried by roll call vote. The Clerk was instructed to write to the County Auditor for official results of the November 6, 1973 election and certifications of people elected. Glenn Potter moved to table the appointment of someone to fill the vacant Councilman chair. Beverly Birtcher seconded the motion. Motion carried by roll call vote.
