Neuzil reported on the re-zoning request for land in and adjacent to the Tiffin City limits on the southwest corner. The re-zoning was approved by the Johnson County Zoning Board. He requested that Mayor Brotherton consider appointing a committee to work with him on the re-codification of City ordinances. The Mayor appointed Glenn Potter, Roger Formanek and Tom Morgan to serve on the re-codification committee, with Formanek as chairman. Regular Meeting Formanek will set a time for a financial audit committee meeting. The Clerk-Treas. was directed to notify delinquent utility account holders by letter. The traffic sign posts have not arrived. Potter reported that he had talked with Mayor Saxton. Mayor Saxton talked with Ralph Brown about Oxford using the sewer testing equipment in Tiffin. Council concurred that a $50.00 per month fee be charged, excluding cost of lab material and supplies used by Oxford. The Mayor reported that Dennis Saeugling, Hawkeye Engineers supervised the excavation in the field west of the effluent ponds. A break in field tile was found and stopped up. Following observations show that the fluid level of the ponds is rising. Saeugling will advise D.E.Q. of the recent findings. Brown had not found replacement parts for the valves at the sewer plant, according to the Mayor. The Mayor advised that Brown had ordered about three dozen outside water meters. Mayor Brotherton will contact Wayne Smith Drillers, West Liberty for another opinion on the water capacity potential of the leased well. Atty. Neuzil Report: Continuing work on sales tax appeal. Has not received a reply from the company who installed the furnace at the water plant. Don Williams will appraise the Voparil property December 13th. Requests that the Clerk-Treas. have all pertinent state reports on the water fund available tomorrow, December 11th. Clerk-Treas. is to make additional efforts to see that all eligible persons make out a request for half-fee for garbage pick-up before the March billing. Ralph Brown plans on being hospitalised very soon. Council approved hiring Dennis Saeugling to fill Ralph Brown's work temporarily.
