Mayor Potter called meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Councilmembers present were Spivey, Stevens, Rohret, Brown, Cox. Also present were Barbaza Bechtoldt, Larry Lynch, Mike Kart, John W. Grace, Ralph Stoffer, Dave Stoner, Mick Potter, Mary Nedved, Harley Stapes, Larry Beuter, and several members of the high school government class.
Potter reported during community forum that received a complaint that Jim Verry has been bitten by A. J. Sessions' dog. Potter suggested trying to find another dog catcher. Potter also reported that Tim Wolfe had complained about people using the trailer court dumpsters who do not live in the court. He advised Wolfe to work out a solution with Ray Scheetz. Potter also expressed concern about the signs on the north and west edges of town being in very ad shape. Cox will be in charge of running a contest to find a new slogan to put on a new sign.
Lynch reported that the M-1 zoning is very broad. He recommended making it very narrow so that it would cover auto body repair shops only. If other uses are found to be suitable in the future, council could amend it again at that time. This way, the council has total control except for auto body repair shops.
